Pure consciousness is pure potentiality
A beautiful and simple (short) book by Deepak Chopra, The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success I read almost in one sitting. A few days later I read it again. There are more sentences underlined then there are not. The words seemed to come alive. I was finally beginning to find my own methods to unlocking 36 years of my deep thoughts and fears. I sent the book to all my closest friends so we could philosophize over the pages together.
I found this simple three-part practice to be so helpful. I pushed forward to understand how to reach that quiet space. Guess what? It helped a lot. I needed a less complicated plan, a basic method to start to find some sort of success in my search for deeper consciousness. Chopra’s outline was guiding me to my own recipe. Thirty minutes of quiet, outdoor time daily and simply not judging. Being a self-critical perfectionist it was hard for me, but I was making progress.
Applying the Law of Pure Potentiality :
“I will get in touch with the field of pure potentiality by taking time each day to be silent, to just BE. I will also sit alone in silent meditation at least twice a day for approximately thirty minutes in the morning and thirty minutes in the evening.”
“I will take time each day to commune with nature and silently witness the intelligence within every living thing. I will sit silently and watch a sunset, or simply smell the scent of a flower. In the ecstasy of my own silence, and by communing with nature I will enjoy the life throb of ages, the field of pure potentiality and unbounded creativity.”
“I will practice non-judgement. I will begin my day with the statement, “Today, I shall judge nothing that occurs” and throughout the day I will remind myself not to judge.”
